Philly's Gayborhood is also home to the annual OutFest. It's been around for decades, but is now an officially recognized neighborhood, home to countless LGBT-friendly establishments, rainbow street signs, and rainbow crosswalks. Today, we have the Gayborhood located in Washington Square West. As far back as the 1930s, Philly was home to underground private parties for the gay community and in the 60s the Janus Society was founded in Philly. Philadelphia is a city with a lot of history, and that includes the history of the Philadelphia LGBTQ community. Gayborhood is the area in Philly where the LGBTQ+ community is welcomed and celebrated. Philadelphia is a city that has something for everyone, and it wouldn't be complete with the LGBTQ+ community.
